Chardonnay is a fairy-like being who works for the Dream Oracle. She revealed to the Heroes that the Nightmare Knight is resurrected every 5,000 years without fail, and that this is the 100th resurrection - a fact that the Dream Oracle told her to keep secret.

Appearance

Chardonnay has a circular light green face with dark green eyes and an orange mouth. Her body and wings are dark green, and she wears a pale green skirt with a shape similar to a campanula flower. She has a green ponytail that resembles a bunch of grapes. She has trails of yellow fairy dust that follow her around.

Chardonnay is about half the height of Nautilus' bunny ears.

Personality

Chardonnay accidentally crashing into Nautilus.

Chardonnay means well, and gets very upset if she thinks people don't like her. She always wants to help others in any way she can, but sometimes this causes trouble for her. She is clumsy, forgetful, and cannot keep secrets. She apologizes very easily.

Story

Chardonnay first appears in Chapter 1, and every chapter since. (excluding Chapter 4.)

Chapter 1

When our Nautilus and Cucumber are in Coral Canyon, Chardonnay falls onto Nautilus' head. After apologizing, she explains she came to tell Cucumber about the Disaster Masters, but before she can finish, Nautilus tells her that she had already explained it to him. Chardonnay lets a detail slip though, which leads to Cucumber asking her just how many times the Nightmare Knight had been resurrected. She initially lies, but doesn't take long to tell the truth, saying he has been resurrected 100 times including now, through the span of 5,000 years. Cucumber freaks out at this, which Chardonnay apologizes for. She further explains more information about the Nightmare Knight, and encourages the two to find a way to forever lock him away.

Chapter 2

While our heroes are busy with Panpipe's play, Chardonnay is staring at the Noiseblaster, waiting for them to get there. Next time she's seen, she's pacing back and forth, panicking. Fortunately, though, the heroes arrive, and she explains her worry. Cucumber then brings the idea that the Noiseblaster stopped charging due to Princess Piano no longer screaming, which happens to be true. This doesn't calm Chardonnay any further, though.

She returns when the Dream Oracle appears. Dream Oracle lies, claiming she set up the barrier that saved the Melody Kingdom, and Chardonnay congratulates her.

Chapter 3

She appears briefly in Chapter 3, when the Oracle shows up again. She seems much more exhausted than last time, though.

Chapter 5

Our heroes are in Basaltbury, although Chardonnay is with them this time. She asks what Nautilus is writing, and the other explains. Chardonnay tells her that she thinks it's great, and wishes she was more helpful as well. Cucumber asks what she had said, and she goes on a rant about the Dream Oracle. Nautilus tries to calm her, but she goes on, and gives information on Quakemaster.

Next time she's shown, they're in Quakemaster's lair, and she explains the reason for the slot machines. Obsidian tries to take Nautilus, and Chardonnay tries to help her. Later, Liquus appears again, and she joins in on calling him a brat.

In the script continuation of Chapter 5, Chardonnay is still with our heroes, and after the shaking stops, she tells them she no longer feels Quakemaster's presence. When the Oracle comes, she finally stands up to her, but the Oracle traps her in an orb and goes away. Nautilus becomes motivated to save her, and flies over to the Dream Oracle's sanctum.
